I have a variety of life experience in different settings, including running my own business, so I am well aware of what it's like to be part of the workplace.
My experience in counseling started in the Maryland Correctional system over 30 years ago. I have also worked in different social service agencies, including a crisis center, a counseling center and a VA hospital, and have given my time to volunteer services. My most recent agency involvement was as a Medical Social Worker with a local hospice provider. I was intensely involved with patients and families as people faced end of life issues. Eventually, I was in charge of bereavement services for the agency. I maintained a private practice at the same time, counseling individuals and couples dealing with a variety of emotional and psychological problems. That practice is now my sole emphasis.
